Whilst I plan weddings across the whole of The UK (and beyond on a case-by-case basis!), there is something extra special about planning weddings in my home county of Yorkshire. We are blessed with some of the country’s most stunning venues. The Cotswolds often takes centre stage when it comes to English country weddings, but I think Yorkshire may be even better. Take a look at some of my favourite venues across the county:

Middleton Lodge Estate

One of Yorkshire’s most popular venues, and rightly so. With accommodation, a spa, fine dining and not to mention breath-taking gardens, the Middleton Lodge Estate is a must-see. Impeccable interiors and stunning exterior make for the perfect wedding backdrop. You have the choice of the Main House and Garden Marquee, or the Fig House and Walled Garden as your wedding location. There is the option for exclusive use of the entire venue, but this is subject to availability. Another selling point is that Middleton try to be as sustainable as possible, with estate to plate dining and choosing to work with sustainable suppliers, such as foam-free florists.

Grantley Hall

Grantley possesses one of the most impressive settings I’ve ever seen. The drive up to the beautiful hotel is incredible, with manicured lawns and stunning planting, exuding luxury. Home to multiple restaurants and a spa, there is plenty for you and your guests to enjoy - there’s even an onsite professional motorsport simulator! Be it an intimate affair or a large lavish celebration, Grantley Hall offers something for everyone.

Denton Reserve

The recently renovated Denton Hall at Denton Reserve is truly on-of-a-kind and needs to be seen in person to be fully appreciated. Every design detail is intentional and unique, designed specifically for the space in which its located. Operating a fully sustainable and environmentally conscious business model means your wedding breakfast will consist of ingredients sourced directly from the Reserve. There is plenty of onsite accommodation and the whole hall would be yours for the weekend - a fully exclusive use venue.

Hotham Hall Estate

Another recently refurbished venue and one that is truly unparalleled in its beauty. Hotham’s new owners have preserved its heritage, whilst adding an elegant modern twist. With options for a wedding in the main house or a marquee on the lawns, from intimate gatherings to grand affairs, there really are so many possibilities at Hotham. Guests can explore the grounds, or benefit from a bespoke woodland dining experience. Each bedroom has been exquisitely designed, so that every room has its own personality. This is definitely a venue to visit!

Goldsborough Hall

Goldsborough Hall’s gardens in bloom are something really quite special. With views overlooking Yorkshire’s countryside, Goldsborough Hall is perfectly located just 10 minutes from Harrogate, yet surrounded by wide open spaces. With options for exclusive use, Goldsborough can be yours for the whole weekend. The orangery provides a beautiful light space for your wedding breakfast, but for larger weddings there is plenty of space for a marquee. The sunken bath in the bridal suite is a must-see!
