Weddings at Denton Reserve: Sustainability meets luxury

Nestled in the beautiful Ilkley moors lies the Denton Reserve. Previously Denton Hall, it has been bought and restored into a luxury, sustainable and beautiful hall available for private hire, a handful of weddings and private/corporate events. But at its heart lies an ethos of conserving the environment and championing sustainability. Fortunately for me, Denton Reserve encompasses everything I aim to achieve in my own wedding planning and designing for my couples, whilst having the added bonus of being 5 minutes from my house! Yorkshire has been crying out for a wedding venue like Denton and I’m thrilled its finally here.

I was honoured to be asked by Sarah from Leafy Couture to work with her on a styled shoot for a 2-day floristry workshop she was running. Following a day of learning and creating incredible arrangements, a styled shoot was produced at Denton to showcase the students’ work. Bringing this shoot together involved a collaboration of an incredible team of suppliers. Responsible for the mood board creation, design and styling, I leaned into the bright and colourful work Sarah is known for, whilst simultaneously trying to honour the ethos and beauty of Denton. Greens, oranges and purples were the foundation colours in the palette, providing a bright take on the colours found on the moors.

All suppliers were local, all styling items were provided by me and Sarah (with table linens given by the wonderful ladies at Alba Tableware), all the blooms were from local flower farms and created using foam-free, sustainable mechanics. It’s incredible what a brilliant team can do and leave very little impact on the environment!

If sustainability is important to you and your wedding planning, then please get in touch. I’d love to help.
